Crepe the Caterpillar
Colin vs Cuthbert! We've created our own pancake version of the legendary caterpillar cake - Crepe the Caterpillar Pancake is made using our Chocolate Hazelnut Pancake Mix. A real showstopper for a celebration and a sure way to impress your guests. Dessert is served!
What you need
- Chocolate Hazelnut Pancake Mix
- 135ml Milk
- 150ml Cream
- Melted Nutella
- 1 bar Milk Chocolate
- 1 bar White Chocolate
- Chocolate Beans
- Chopped Hazelnuts
- Aldi's Cuthbert caterpillar moulds
Method
- Pour your pancake mix into a bowl, 135ml of milk, a knob of melted butter and whisk.
- Pour batter into a lined baking tray and cook in the oven for 10 minutes on 180 degrees.
- Whilst the pancake is cooking, melt the white and milk chocolate and create the caterpillar extras.
- Once cooked, remove from the oven, roll and then let the pancake cool.
- When cooled, unroll the pancake and spread melted Nutella on top.
- To make the ganche heat up 150 mls of double cream, bring to the boil and pour over half a bar of milk chocolate. Stir until silky and smooth and then leave the ganche to cool and thicken.
- Roll the pancake back up and cover with chocolate ganche then pop in the fridge for 10 minutes.
- Decorate with chocolate beans, chopped hazelnuts and add the caterpillar extras to bring Crepe to life.
